Greetings to you all & welcome to our Autumn 2011 edition of the The South Shore Magazine
The crisp morning and evening air of Autumn have begun to take hold, the Autumnal equinox the official end to summer was a couple of weeks back. The realistic end of summer was Labor Day weekend with the end of laid back schedules, vacations, beach days, boating, fishing, gardening. We are back in work and school mode with our days and weekends tightly scheduled, yearning for the relaxed atmosphere of summer.
We have been busy here to put together the Autumn 2011 issue of South Shore Magazine. On our front cover we have the gentlemen who are expanding their positive car dealer experience to the South Shore. Village Auto Group’s owner Ray Ciccolo and Dan Leahy adorn the cover in front of Porsche of Norwell/Audi Norwell. Check out their article on page 6. We have a great article by Tess Jenkins on outdoor living and planning the best uses for your outdoor spaces. Autumn and winter are great times to do this. Also in the House & Home section we have a feature article by Mary Ellen Dever on WildCat Hill in Norwell, a joint project between JP Gallagher Construction and A.W. Perry featuring spectacular new homes in a beautiful wooded setting.
Being a Beer lover I am excited about the article by Tim Curry in our “It’s a Man’s World” section featuring some of the smaller local breweries and their delicious craft beers. Enjoy these finely crafted beverages while kicking back and enjoying your favorite college or pro football game, or pair them up with your weekend meals!
One thing that gets me through the long New England Winters is skiing. Our friends at Country Ski and Sport have some tips on getting ready for the season from exercise to making sure you and your gear are up to snuff and ready to hit the slopes.
For many years now we have been fortunate in having the EATWELL restaurants (Tosca, Caffé Tosca and Stars) as advertisers in South Shore Magazine. I typically expound on the seasonal culinary creations coming out of each restaurant. In this issue we are focusing on “the front of the house” with articles on each of the three restaurants GM’s. These are the guys (in this case) that orchestrate your night out and make sure that you have a terrific experience. Hats off to Chris Sugrue of Tosca, Chris Jule of Caffé Tosca and Wes Baltzer of Stars for jobs well done!
Lastly I would like to thank all of our advertisers for their support and welcome several new advertisers to South Shore Magazine. Our new advertisers include A.W. Perry, JP Gallagher Construction, South Coastal Bank, Dr. Richard Strecker, Front Street Gourmet (Terri Martini has put together a great selection of fresh and specialty foods and beverages) Meg Studio, Road to Responsibility, Dream Smile, Teri Sica, and Lavishly Dunn Catering (had a chance to experience: AWESOME!)
Special thanks to South Shore Hospital, Giarrusso, Norton, Cooley and McGlone, Leland Dental, The Fruit Center and Artistic Dentistry for their multiple years of continuous support as clients in South Shore Magazine.
