Sunless Tanning

I am a very lucky girl and just got back from vacation in Mexico, enjoying a Spring Break with my husband and two kids. While I was there, I overheard some women talking about a recent walk along the beach. They came across a woman “lying out,” coated in oil, and dark, mahogany brown — a real sun worshipper. It was “just so ‘80’s,” one friend remarked. I thought about her statement and about just how true it is. The fact that that type of sun tanning has gone the way of acid washed jeans and Wham! says a lot about how effective dermatologists have been in getting the message out about the risks associated with sun tanning, especially skin cancer risks. But there is still a long way to go. Many people still try to get “just enough color” to achieve that glow associated with a healthy, youthful look. The fact is that even a little bit of sun exposure is enough to cause long term damage. But if skin cancer is not enough to make you think twice, how about I appeal to your vanity? Sun tanning not only prematurely ages skin, it looks uneven, freckly, red and splotchy. So, what’s the difference? Airbrush tanning is done by a licensed esthetician using a hand-held spray tanning machine to give you a beautiful natural looking tan. Developed in Australia, our solution is unlike any other in the market. We use only natural organic ingredients and no chemical additives. You have the peace of mind that no matter how light or dark your skin type is, you will get a natural looking tan with no mess, odor or streaking. The airbrushing is available in three colors: light, medium and dark and Rapid Results Tan in medium (with a two-hour development time). With the airbrush wand, the esthetician can even out skin tone, blend freckles and even help fill in tan lines.

For our sunless tanning booth option, we offer VersaSpa^®system, which we have found is the most innovative system on the market. You can cover all of your skincare needs by bronzing, hydrating and smoothing fine lines in one session. The client customizes the tanning application by selecting one, or combining all three full-body treatments, including a pre-sunless pH balancing treatment, a bronzing level, and a post-sunless super hydrating treatment. You can even just do your legs! Clients enter a totally private booth, remove clothing and don a super attractive cap to cover their hair, coat hands and feet with cream, press the button and presto – instant color!

And just think, these tans can be maintained year-round, which is a lot longer than a New England summer.
