Greetings to you all
& welcome to our Winter 2012-13 edition of the SSM.
Season’s Greetings to you all! I wish you hope and happiness during this time. Time with our families and friends are the best gift of all year, but especially during the holiday season. With recent tragic events, I think we all have renewed vigor to the importance of family and friends and the thought to never take this for granted.
It is hard to believe that 2012 is soon a memory. The vision of the last few years for me is like in a cartoon or vintage movie with the page numbers of daily calendars flying off the card at a rampant rate!
Welcome to the winter issue of 2012-13, our staff have been busy the last couple of months putting together our latest creation. Our cover image and feature is a focus on the new Emerson wing and addition at South Shore Hospital. We are very fortunate to have a local hospital with vision and forward thinking to provide top notch, cutting edge services and facilities for those living on the South Shore.
We have a few new additions in our in our Great Tastes section, but first many thanks go out to The Fruit Center Marketplace in Hingham and Milton and to Marsh’s Wine and Sprits for 10 plus years of anchoring this very popular section of South Shore Magazine. Our new features are a quarterly restaurant round up on what is happening on the South Shore restaurant scene, written by Cindy Rosenfeld of HinghamFoodie.com. Cindy will also be doing a weekly feature on my radio show, South Shore Live. Broadcasting Monday nights from 8-10 pm on 95.9 WATD in Marshfield or live stream us on your computer etc at www.southshorelive.com or www.959watd.com. I am VERY excited as our sponsors of our new quarterly craft beer review article written by Jean Marc Aubuchon, craft beer specialist for L. Knife distributors. Johnny Picardi rounds out our recent additions to this section with his “worldly food article.”
Many thanks to our longtime advertisers and a hearty welcome to our new advertisers: ABEO Med Spa, Curtis Liquors, Warmington Furniture, JW’s Burger Bar, Dog Watch Pub, The Fours and Union Brewhouse. Welcome back to Raffael’s and Bayside Marine.
As I have mentioned in every issue, it is the advertisers in South Shore Magazine that enable us to provide this publication to you. So, please kindly thank them when you visit their business and most definitely mention that you saw them in South Shore Magazine.
In closing I would like to thank Linda Ricciardelli, our longtime editor and proofreader for her years of service to the magazine. Best of luck in your new business. I also would like to thank everyone on our writing and photography staff for a terrific effort and special thanks to Christine Dietterich for an outstanding job again and again with her art direction. A super special thanks to my wife Mary Ann, sons Kevin and Caleb for their moral support as well as family and friends.
Cheers!
